Tuan Nguyen was born and raised in Viet Nam
until the age of 10 when the seed of the American dream was
sowed in his heart. After escaping from his country of birth
by boat he arrived on American soil; and so a long sown
dream had taken root and began to sprout wings. Tuan says "I
am grateful for the country I live in because of the freedom
of choice that I have not found equal anywhere else:
religion, commerce...etc, and for the limitless variety of
activities and cultures to enjoy."
Tuan discovered Salsa 10 years ago when his friend invited
him to take a lesson in "partner" dancing in Moor Park. Tuan
was immediately changed forever. He found that dancing was
something special which he could not explain, but to say
that the music and the movement became something that was
after his own heart. He began taking lessons and frequenting
the social scene as his love for dancing quickly grew and
also his appreciation and fascination for Latin Culture and
Music. Tuan says "A whole other world was opening up to me
to totally enrich my life; I will be forever grateful for my
friend who opened my horizon."
Tuan is a recent member of SYC and comments that "Rogelio
and my new friends have already shown me how much more
exciting and hard work (in a good way) dancing can be but
ultimately: fun." |
