Salsabor Y Cache Performance Group, directed by Rogelio
Moreno, is a collaboration of beginner and intermediate
dancers working together to gain technique and performing
experience. The members understand that this group is not
just another performance group, it is a team, each member
knowing his or her role. A lot of hard work and is put in to
learning difficult routines and enduring hours of training
to be able to perform as a part of Salsabor Y cache.
Dedication is not a word seldom said about the members of
the SYC Performance group.

Mercedes Manjarez
Was born and raised in the pacific coast, Acapulco, Mexico
“Costena por excelencia” where she begun joining Mexican
folklorics and modern Jazz teams.
Continuing her education in L. A. she started developing her
“loving passion of the art of dance” with versatile rhythms of
rumba, cha-cha and guaguanco.
She’s very proud of improve her salsa dance skills with Mr.
Rogelio Moreno choreographer and director of SYC Dance Company,
who encouraged her to reach her dancing goals by performing in
prestigious salsa events, such as San Francisco and L. A.
congresses, Fiesta del Barrio festival, Spirit of Dance an many
others; while she’s been joining the Semi-pro team since the
last 3 years! |

Tuan Nguyen was born and raised in Viet
Nam until the age of 10 when the seed of the American dream was
sowed in his heart. After escaping from his country of birth by
boat he arrived on American soil; and so a long sown dream had
taken root and began to sprout wings. Tuan says "I am grateful
for the country I live in because of the freedom of choice that
I have not found equal anywhere else: religion, commerce...etc,
and for the limitless variety of activities and cultures to
enjoy."
